Advertising Material

Preferred File Formats:

  • Adobe PDF: Fonts embedded, file to size. CMYK/ 300ppi.

We also accept the following:

  • Adobe Illustrator: CMYK/ EPS with fonts outlined.

  • Adobe Photoshop: CMYK TIFF or EPS/ 300 ppi minimum/ 400ppi preferred. 

  • Beginning design in highest resolution will help with the overall text clarity. 

  • Although normally not recommended to set type in Photoshop.

  • Adobe InDesign: Package the document with all elements and fonts, or export as EPS with the fonts outlined.

  • Quark XPress: Include all files and fonts used in the document or collect for output. 

CorelDraw files will not be accepted.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting art:

  • All associated/imported graphics and fonts (both screen & printer) must be included.

  • Large solids- especially Black need to be created as “rich black”. Rich black is a combination of all the CMYK inks - Cyan 60%, Magenta 50%, Yellow 50% and Black 100%. (Reserve “rich black” for large solids - never use for text unless it’s larger than 30 pts.)

  • Fonts: When sending your Macintosh file, always include PRINTER and SCREEN fonts. When sending your PC file, we can use your .TTF, .TTI and .OTF fonts. We use Adobe Type 2 compatible fonts. Whenever possible, try to convert fonts to outline.

  • All colors used throughout must be in CMYK (RGB, Lab and spot colors are not supported).

  • Color and grayscale pixel-based graphics should be at 300 pixels per inch, in TIFF or EPS (EPS saved in binary) format. Bitmapped line art should be at 800 pixels per inch (1200 preferred) in TIFF format.

  • Drawing program (object-based) created graphics should be submitted in EPS format.

  • Please confirm dimensional accuracy (see chart below) prior to submission and include a hard copy proof with the submission (laser, ink jet or other direct digital printout of reliable accuracy).

  • Screen Requirements: 175 lines per inch

  • Density: GCR/ 300% maximum density

  • 4-Color Press Proofs: Kodak Approval, Imation Matchprint, Fuji Proof preferred. Any other type of submitted proof cannot be guaranteed for accurate color reproduction.

Terms & Conditions

Credit Terms:

First-time advertisers must prepay. To establish credit for billing on subsequent insertions, advertisers and/or agencies must submit a credit application with the first insertion order. Invoices are payable upon

receipt. A 1.5% finance charge will be added each month to all outstanding

invoices over 30 days.

Cancellations and Late Charges:

Non-fulfillment of multiple ad run commitments will result in a short rate for the ad(s) run. This means you will be charged at the rate for the number of times you ran, as well as billed 25% for the ads contracted for, but not run. FULL AD PRICES WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY CANCELLATIONS MADE AFTER THE PUBLISHED CLOSING DATE. It is the responsibility of advertisers to alert their advertising representatives to any changes of their agreement, which includes ad material, or the issues in which they wish to run. All changes must be made before the published ad close date, or the original invoices over 30 days.

Agency Commissions and Discounts:

A 15% agency discount is given to recognized agencies on space charges, only if paid within 30 days of receipt of invoice. Production charges are non-commissionable.

Publisher¹s Policies:

The publisher reserves the right to hold advertiser and/or its agency jointly and severally liable for monies due and payable to the publisher.

The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement. The advertiser agrees to indemnify and protect the publisher from any claim of expenses from the advertiser¹s unauthorized use of a name, photograph, sketch, or words protected by copyright or registered trademark. If the publisher deems that an advertisement simulates editorial, it must carry the words ADVERTISEMENT at the top. The publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or non-delivery in the events of an act of God, labor and/or material shortages, transportation slowdowns of any kind, or any condition beyond the control of the publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
