While I like bbq w/ some bite to it, my wife has been asking me if I could come up with a rub and sauce that is a sweet/tropical/Hawaiian/(pineapple?) for ribs and chops. Can you recommend a rub and sauce to buy or modify? P.S.  She's the one who bought me a Big Green Egg for Christmas last year so I feel an obligation to try to accommodate her.

Hi Bill,

Sounds like a great wife. You should definitely try to accommodate her. Try adding some crushed pineapple and a little brown sugar to your favorite sauce and use it to glaze the ribs at the end of the cooking. This is a trick I learned from my mom! She used to add a little molasses too but I find that to be pretty intense.
